BIOGRAPHY:

Catherine "Lilbit" Devine grew up & still resides in the Desert southwest. A Tucson native, she grew up immersed in a rich meld of Scot/Irish, Hispanic, Sicilian & Native American culture & customs. Lucky enough to be raised around horses & cattle, she began writing poetry in the fifth grade. She writes about the land, its people & the only way of life she has ever known. Rodeo & ranching are in her blood, as is the Code of the West. She rode roughstock in high school, saddle bronc & bareback bronc, entering any jackpot rodeo and amateur rodeo that would take her entry fees. Whenever someone would say that a girl ought not to be doing such a thing, she would answer, "If it was good enough for Tad Lucas & Fox Hastings then its good enough for me." She is just as at home horseback, on a dance floor or in the back chutes. She divides her time between her children, her close knit family, her menagerie of animals, her day job, her jewelry designing & her writings.

Among her other many endeavors, Lilbit helped to establish a Youth Trick Roping Performance Troupe, The Cactus Cowboy Corral, which has performed throughout the United States & Canada. They are an outstanding group of young girls & boys who come from varied socioeconomic backgrounds throughout the Tucson Valley.

Bit has published Cactus Faeries, a Children's picture book illustrated by Leila Megan Montiel, released in February 2006, and Rodeo'n, Romanc'n & Remember'n, a compilation of poems written by Lilbit & Jacob MacCallister, which was released in 2003. She, along with Casey, Jeff Streeby and Debra Coppinger Hill, released a compilation CD, Whispers of the West ~ Armagh to Arizona, in July of 2006. She has two more books slated for release in 2007, Mis Raices Estan Aqui ~ Life's Lessons Learned, her second book of Western Poetry, and Critter Sitter, her second children's picture book. Also in spring of 2008, Bit will release her first CD, One More Renegade Rose.

BIOGRAPHY:

Jeff Streeby grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, an historic terminal market for Western beef, and worked for Waitt Cattle Company while he attended college. Later, he went to Minnesota and Florida where he worked as a groom and stableman for dressage and A-Circuit hunter-jumper trainers. He has worked on the Thoroughbred racetracks of Nebraska and Montana as both a groom and an assistant trainer. After several years of teaching in El Paso, Texas, working a few odd seasonal jobs on several ranches near Sierra Blanca, and boarding horses at his little New Mexico place, Jeff ended up in Montana where he taught at Great Falls High School. Jeff and his family now reside in Yucaipa, California where he teaches Senior English and Advanced Placement Language and Composition at Perris High School in Perris, California.

Jeff has pursued graduate work and was a Fellow in the West Texas Writing Project at the University of Texas in El Paso. His performances as a Cowboy poet incorporates Jeff's expertise as an Educator, his love of history and his passion for the English language. He is adept at formulating curriculum based programs that trace the history, poetry and stories of the American West from distant shores to the American West of the 1800's.

Streeby is formerly the editor/compiler of the From Texas to Montana series of books published by Great Falls High School's Dallywelter Press. Jeff is an active member of Western Writers of America. His work has been published in Western Horseman, Cowboy Gazette, Rope Burns and Countryline magazines. It is also seen at Charlie Russell's Stagecoach, Cattlecall, Cowboypoetry.com, Cowboy Poetry Corral and Cowboys-n-Cowgirls on the web.  Jeff has also appeared in the Public Television (PBS) Series Cowboy Corral.

Jeff is currently working on Sunday Creek, which is a collection of posthumous monologues from the inhabitants of the mythical community of Sunday Creek, Montana. Based on twenty years researching real characters of the American West, Streeby's writing transcends common Cowboy Poetry, elevating it to a fine literary art form.
